Greenpeace

Greenpeace is a non governmental environmental organisation with offices in over 40 countries and with an international coordination body in amsterdam.

Greenpeace states that its goal is to...

"Ensure the ability of the Earth to nurture life
              In all its diversity"

Greenpeace focus on issues from global warming, overfishing. commercial whaling, and anti-nuclear issues.

They were started in 1971 when a ship named Greenpeace from Vancouver to oppose United States testing of nuclear devices in Alaska.

Greenpeace views nuclear power as relatively minor industry with major problems, such as environmental damage and risks from uranium mining, nuclear weapons proliferation and unresolved questions concerning nuclear waste.

Greenpeace are probably one of the most if not the most well known environmental activist groups in th world. They re also know for their direct approach rather than just trying to resolve issues through talks.

Greenpeace would seem like an obvious choice for  my brief but again they have other issues that they are attending to in the world so I will still be on the look out for charities whose main or only concern is nuclear disarmament.
