Velcro
Another way of attaching a badge is to use velcro. The badges are first embroidered on polyester after which the badges can then be cut to shape. They are then sewed onto the side of the velcro. Following this the hook and the loops sides are cut out to the shape of the badge. the loop sides are then sewn onto the desired fabric. The badges can then be attached to the material.
These types of badge are commonly found in construction industries and other uniformed groups such as the armed forces because of their flexibility.
Iron On
These badges are also usually embroidered on polyester cloth. However the method of applying them to the desired material is different. On the back of these badges is a heat adhesive film which is then activated using a heat press to attach them to their object. The overall effect is neater because there is no unwanted string left at the edges.
Sew-on
The design for these badges usually embroidered on polyester cloth. The design for the badges includes and embroidered border or fully embroidered background. They are then cut into shape and sewn on to the desired item. This type of badge is commonly used for bags, school uniforms and jumpsuits.
These are the driver for the 2010 formula one season. When creating my promotional packs it could be a good idea to create the driver profiles for each team. This would give it a more personal touch to the pack rather than just having faceless corporate logos and sponsors.
I could also look at printing onto material similar to racing suits they are wearing, for example jump suits. It may be the case that I could print some logos and designs on to velcro that would stick onto a material similar to this.
