F1 Cars and Vinyl Stickers

Vinyl stickers straight from print

Above are some vinyl stickers that have come straight from print and await to be placed on the bodies of cars. Collectively they look like great pieces of technical design, coming together spread the name of the manufacturer and the sponsors in style.

This is something that I wish to achieve with my designs. I don't have a car of my own to test them out on, and I doubt anyone of my friends would be willing to let me stick a few on their cars. However im sure I could get my hands on an old car door from a scrap yard somewhere and this would be perfect to test my designs on.

Vinyl Prints

These are some examples of Vinyl Sticker printing nets that have been designed for racing Karts. When I come to design my corporate logos and their sponsors, this is the type of process and format I would wish to do it in.
This could also be included in each teams promotional pack for the fans.

Virgin Racing

After lower formula success, Manor Motorsport join F1 as Virgin Racing, with car designed entirely in digital domain. Early pace and reliability poor, plus chassis overhaul needed after discovery that fuel tank is too small. Performance slowly improves, allowing team to challenge Lotus as best newcomer.

Toro Rosso

First season as a 'true constructor', working independently of sister Red Bull team. Consistently make it through to Q2 in qualifying, but in races point-scoring results remain few and far between.

Renault

After indifferent showing in pre-season testing, R30 quickly emerges as podium contender in hands of Robert Kubica. Team mate Vitaly Petrov, Russia's first F1 driver, puts in some stirring early performances, taking first points at round four in China.

Red Bull

RB6 widely acknowledged as the fastest car on the grid, at least in the dry, but reliability niggles, some unfavourable weather and the odd driver error mean the team only move ahead in the standings following August's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Mercedes

Mercedes form first works squad since 1955 after buying out Brawn GP, but fail to maintain team's front-running form of 2009. Michael Schumacher makes much anticipated F1 comeback, but is comprehensively outgunned by younger team mate Nico Rosberg.

Mclaren

Car not as quick as Red Bull's, but more reliable and shines in damp conditions. Performance aided by innovative (and much copied) F-duct, allowing drivers to stall rear wing on straights. Team lead standings for first half of season before pace falls behind that of Red Bull and Ferrari.

Lotus Racing

Famous name returns to F1 for first time since '94 with all-new, UK-based team backed by Malaysian consortium including carmakers Proton, Group Lotus owners. Both cars classified finishers in first race and team quickly establish themselves as best of the 2010 newcomers.

HRT

Founded by ex-driver Adrian Campos, then taken over by investor Jose Ramon Carabante, with Colin Kolles (ex-Force India) as team principal. Despite no pre-season testing, record first two-car finish at round three in Malaysia. Tester Yamamoto takes over Karun Chandhok's race seat mid season.

Force India

Initially maintain momentum of late 2009 and emerge as regular Q3 and points contenders, but fade somewhat by mid season as other midfield rivals such as Williams and BMW Sauber close the performance gap.

Ferrari

Strong start to year with one-two finish in Bahrain, but then quickly find themselves playing catch-up to Red Bull and McLaren. Mid-season revival puts them back in the hunt, but Hockenheim team orders controversy lands them a September date with the FIA's World Motor Sport Council.

BMW Sauber

Ferrari-powered C29's pace and reliability initially disappoints. Long-term technical director Willy Rampf replaced by James Key, ex-Force India, in April. Performance gradually improves, with regular top-ten appearances by mid season. Pedro De la Rosa replaced by Nick Heidfeld for final five rounds.

AT & T Williams

Mixed fortunes in early races, with both drivers taking the FW32 into Q3 and the lower end of the points on occasion. Results much improved by mid season, with Barrichello fourth in Valencia.
